The Tertiary and International Learners Code of Practice supports the wellbeing and safety of international students specifically. This code makes sures that international students feel safe and supported by their education providers. An education provider must be approved signatory to the code before enrolling international students. This means that education providers have to meet the standards that is described within the code to be able to enrol international students. New Zealand is the only country which has consistently supported international students throughout the tough economic times. It has kept it borders opened and never for once closed its doors on them. You may have read so many stories coming out from USA, UK, Australia asking students go to back home. This has never been the message. They have also decided to increase the part time student hours to 25 from 20 hours.

You also get access to the universtiy clinics and free access to healthlines on counselling and sexual health clinics. With your Student ID card you can get discounted public travel services and lots of places that offer you discount on food, retail, fashion and stationary. This is the same across all students whether you are international or domestic.

Job Opportunities

Students can work part time hours during the study time, and full-time during college breaks. Graduates may be eligible for a visa to stay and work in New Zealand after completing their studies.
